2022 – 2024

ICDI has developed and supported the implementation of a community-based early learning playgroup programme in Uzbekistan, in the frame of the project ‘Promoting Early Childhood Development’ for the Ministry of Education, with funding provided by the World Bank Group to support the Ministry of Preschool Education and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan to expand the provision of ECD services. The playgroup programme was designed for children between 3 and 6 years old including those with developmental delays, disabilities, and special needs, and their parents/caregivers.

Activities conducted by ICDI include: a Rapid Review; the development of a curriculum package for educators and mentors; training and implementation support; the development of tools for monitoring the implementation of the program; and guidance to enable the institutionalisation of the programme.
