ICDI is developing a knowledge brief, curriculum materials and a training package about literacy, numeracy and socio-emotional skills for preschools with an emphasis on play-based learning, problem-solving, collaboration and developing and implementing training modules on the same. Inclusion of children with disabilities or developmental needs is being prioritized throughout. The Curriculum and Training Package will be the basis of the training of 100.000 preschool teachers in Uzbekistan. The client is the Ministry of Preschool Education and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as part of the ‘Promoting Early Childhood Development Project’ funded by the World Bank Group.
