ICDI did a desk research and approached international and local organizations active in the region, to map and assess best practices in Family Strengthening interventions, focused on preventing institutionalization and those focused on reintegrating children into biological or foster families from institutions. We developed a criteria checklist, including aspects like sustainability and cost-effectiveness, on the basis of which we selected interventions that were subsequently described in an overview document.
