ICDI is a knowledge centre in child development. We can be commissioned by other organizations to develop certain tools or do research.
In 2019 Save the Children’s Eastern Europa office asked us to do a review of best practices in Family Strengthening interventions in the region. These are programmes that aim to prevent separation of children from their families or that aim to re-integrate children back into their families (or into foster families/family type care).
We did an assessment of several of such interventions taking place in Eastern Europa, implemented by local and international organizations. The aim was to provide policymakers, service-providing organizations and child protection practitioners and child rights advocates with an easy to use reference document, to augment the implementation of support programmes for children and families in vulnerable circumstances.
In the end 14 examples of promising practices were selected. The whole report can be downloaded here.
