It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dr. Elly Singer, a valued friend of ICDI and esteemed member of our Committee of Recommendation. Elly’s pioneering research about children’s social relationships and friendships in group settings has been an important source of inspiration for ICDI. She was a true advocate for young children – for their right to be heard, to be understood, and just to be children. Elly touched the hearts and minds of many Dutch and international early childhood researchers and practitioners. Her fearlessness, positive ‘can do’ attitude and dedication to communicating research to practitioners will be missed. Her work and insights will live on in her many and varied publications.
