Are you passionate about supporting the people of Palestine but unsure how to take action? Join us for the Red Line for Gaza demonstration on Sunday, October 5th at 1:00 PM at Museumplein in Amsterdam. Click here for more information about the Red Line.
This is the third Red Line demonstration in the Netherlands. The first took place in May, when over 100,000 people marched to The Hague to protest the government’s policies on Israel and Gaza. The second followed in June, also in The Hague, with up to 150,000 participants. Together, we called on the government to take action to stop the genocide in Gaza.
By drawing a red line, we send a clear message to politicians, policymakers, and all residents of the Netherlands: decisive action is urgently needed. It’s time to impose effective political, economic, and diplomatic sanctions on Israel without delay. A fundamental shift in policy is essential. Over 134 organisations have already endorsed this demonstration.
As a Dutch-based NGO, ICDI—standing in solidarity with child-focused organisations such as UNICEF, Oxfam Novib, and Save the Children—calls on the Dutch government to act now and:
- Exert maximum pressure on all parties to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza;
- Demand unconditional, sufficient, and safe access for humanitarian aid;
- Support investigations into war crimes and genocide, and ensure accountability for those responsible;
- Call for an end to violence in the West Bank and the illegal occupation of Palestine; and
- Maintain consistent pressure on the Israeli government to commit to a political solution based on equal rights for both Palestinians and Israelis.
COME IN RED & BRING FAMILY AND FRIENDS
There will be a Save the Children play area specifically for kids, located just behind the stage to the right. Children can enjoy sports and games under the supervision of trained volunteers.
New this time is the “Chat Tent”, where children can talk to an expert about the impact of war. They will also have the opportunity to draw or write their dreams for children in Gaza on special dream boards.
