Research: success factors for claiming youth-led civic spaces by European youth work

The Here to Stay project intends to counter the trend of shrinking civic space in Europe and the implications it has on young people by creating an enabling and productive environment for youth work and facilitate the process of involving young people in decision-making and use of civic space.

ICDI, together with the other partners, carried out field- and desk research and conducted interviews and focus groups in order to gain more insight in the critical success factors for claiming civic space for young people by European youth work.

The report presents case studies from the Czech Republic, Hungary, the Netherlands and Romania, and discusses how culture, sports and arts can play a role in claiming youth-led civil spaces. It shares important practical pointers and recommendations for youth workers and others who work with children and young people.
