Parenting Skills

Brief description:

This training workshop provides professionals with knowledge, skills, and tools to support parents and carers of young children in their parenting role. Parental support in the first years of life is pivotal for the healthy and happy development of young children. A nurturing environment for very young children is also very important to develop solid foundations for their psychosocial well-being. The training includes topics such as engaging fathers in the parenting process and caring for the carers – recognising the needs of parents as human beings.

Duration: Training can be delivered online or in person. We suggest 0.5-day training for online delivery (adapted version) and 1.5- or 2-day training for in-person delivery.

Training topics include:

  • Understanding of parenting and child development
  • The Role of Play
  • Evidence-based parenting education and skills training

For: Local and international NGOs, ECD institutions, practitioners, community workers, and volunteers. Local policymakers (municipalities) and local organisations linked to ECD and inclusive education.
