Help us empower and protect Dalit girls in Bangladesh during lockdowns!
September 14, 2020
COVID-19 is having a major impact on the lives of Dalit girls (a religious-ethnic minority) in Bangladesh. Schools are closed, families are becoming even poorer and girls are isolated from protection services. They are missing out on their education, don't have access to hygiene products and, hidden behind closed doors, are potential victims of violence and child marriage.
ICDI is launching a crowdfunding campaign on GlobalGiving to teach girls to produce their own face masks and sanitary pads and empower them to go back to school when the lockdowns are lifted. Together we make girls visible and safe again!
Now, more than ever, these girls need us. And we need you!
DONATE TODAY: http://goto.gg/48757
With your support 500 teenage girls will learn how to make their own reusable menstrual products and face masks for their communities. This will increase their safety and raise awareness about the effects of COVID-19. Because the girls increase their skills, they and their families will have a greater chance to have an income both during and after the pandemic. Your support will also keep them at school when lockdowns are lifted. They will have a better chance to avoid child marriage and fulfil their potential.
The crowdfunding campaign starts on 14th September 2020 at 15,00 CEST and stops on 1st October 2020 at 6,00 CEST.
If you’re willing and able, please make a donation to this Covid19 help for girls in Bangladesh.
If you donate between 23rd September from 6,00 CEST and 24th September until 06,00 CEST, our project will receive extra funding from GlobalGiving.
If you’re unable to donate at this time, there are many other ways you can support us!
You can advocate for us by sharing our mission with a family member or friend. Even a quick mention on your social media would mean the world to us.
In times like this, we’re reminded of how interconnected we all are. Thank you for being part of our community. Without you, none of it is possible.
