Leiden is thé Dutch city for children’s rights. An example is Leiden University with its Department of Child Law. I am also very proud of the ‘Kinderrechtenhuis Nederland’ (Child Rights Home Netherlands), a renovated orphanage now functioning as an office building where several organisations are doing great work with and for children. International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI) is one of these. For more than twenty years ICDI is making impressive contributions to the psychosocial well-being of children and young people around the world.
