Thieme is studying Pedagogical Science at Leiden University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Security Studies. While pursuing his studies, he is also exploring potential career paths for after graduation. At ICDI, he has found an opportunity to learn how NGOs. assist the team and gain hands-on experience. Previously, he worked as a remedial teacher at an elementary school.
As a child
Thieme was born into a family of four. He loved playing football and reading, often finishing books within days. Some of his favorite books included Pinkeltje and De Grijze Jager.
Thieme and play
Growing up in a small town, Thieme played a lot on the football field and other smaller playgrounds. Sometimes on the streets, because of the relatively quiet streets there was not much danger when playing there. Games like hide and seek or tag were his favorites.
